September 30 is the inaugural National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada.

Today is a good day for reflection and taking action towards truth and reconciliation.

There are many events taking place around the city of Vancouver, the province of BC and across Canada.

Here is a list (with embedded links) of National Truth and Reconciliation Day events shared by our social work colleague Tammy Brumwell.

We will be attending the event at Britannia Centre. This event is in partnership with the Indian Residential School Survivor Society (IRSSS), the Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre (VAFC), and the Vancouver Aboriginal Community Policing Centre (VACPC).

Meme Tees: messages of hope believes that housing, and prioritizing financial resources for housing for indigenous people is a good step towards reconciliation.

What steps are you taking towards truth and reconciliation?
